Evan,
I have both the 283 and the 285 which I use with my Rapid M. I can
recommend them both, however due to it shape and design, I find the 285
fills the bill better than the 283. I use the 285 with my 58mm, 90mm and
135mm lenses. Stick with the Vivtar, low cost and they do one hell of a
job.
