Re: [KOML] close up adapters?!
Shouldn't any decent closeup lens that is either 49mm (series filter
removed, as described at http://www.smu.edu/~rmonagha/mf/korapid.html
with $3 rubber stopper from previous posts to this list) or series VI
(ring still in place) enable you to do closeup photos? With an adapter
ring, you could probably use many 35mm closeup lens sets as well?
Focusing Distance would depend on diopters. Kodak closeup lens articles
suggest using a measured rod or ruler to set focus distance, then drop
away (e.g., for flowers etc) and take photo. We used to build a wire
frame and use it to set both precise focus and distance. If it works on
the Nikonos, it ought to work on the KOs too ;-) Fast to use, too...
Divide 1/diopter strength to get focus distance with lens set at infinity,
such as 1/+1 or 1 meter for +1 diopter, 1/2 meter for +2 etc. Coverage
would depend on the lens used, but easily established with one or two
test photos on a test target.
In the meantime, you can keep an eye out for the "real-thing" with rods
and all, but you can take a lot of photos reusing those old 35mm camera's
closeup lenses ;-)
good luck - bobm
