[KOML] Film insert/magazine line up dots.

Here's a question for the trivia experts:
While checking the alignment/tightness of fit for my 3 inserts/magazines for 
120 and my 1 insert/mag for 220, I found that the 220 insert had a green
correction: the 220 insert had a red alignment dot as did 2 of the 120 inserts
while the 3rd had a green alignment dot.  3 of the mags had matching red dots
while the 4th had a green one.
What is the significance of the difference in colors???
....and yes, some combos of mags/inserts were significantly tighter than others after being checked by physically shifting the combos around.
...and no, the best fit was not found by lining up the  "green" insert with the 
"green" mag..."red + green" worked out better with the 2 "green" items.
This has me puzzled to say the least.
