Lloyd,
    After setting the f stop and focus distance, go
back to the f stop scale on the inner ring.  Follow the
white lines back to the lens shade with the f stop used
on both sides of the scale and  read the the footage
indicated by the lines.  i.e.:  using a distance of 15'
@ f16 the depth of field in feet will be between 10'
and 30'. Hope this helps.
