Peter,
Am sure that a man of your culture and experience has come across one or
two. You probably thought, "oh, that's a fine motorcycle!" without being
able to see the name on the petrol tank as it was more than likely going
too fast :-)
James Andover Norton produced motorcycles in England from the early 1920s
and they became renowned through successes in road racing and trials work.
I have had the pleasure to ride the Norton which won the 1927 Transatlantic
Tropy races - it was an edifying experience :-)
The Norton in the photo was made from stock steel and Norton parts which
span 25 years and various models.
In an attempt to keep at least some Koni content, the lathe used to
construct the Norton has also been used for making parts for the
Koni-Omegas....
